What Is Our Purpose?
The purpose of Edwards Corners Bible Church is to glorify God, by making disciples of every nation, teaching them to observe the Word of God, assembling ourselves together for communion, fellowship, encouragement and challenge. (Matthew 28:18-10, Hebrews 10:25, Acts 2:42, Romans 14:19)
We will fulfill our purpose through the preaching of God’s Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit, centered in Jesus Christ, doctrinally sound, and relevant to our world. We will be a “Lighthouse”, shining forth the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a people hurting and in need of a Savior, just like us. We will continue to call God’s people to a life of holiness (1 Peter 1:13-16) and with consistent training enable believers to do the work of the ministry serving the King of Kings. (2 Timothy 2:2) We will partner with other individuals and organizations to spread the good news of Jesus Christ around the world. (Acts 1:8)

What Do We Believe?
We believe that the 66 books of the Holy Bible are God-breathed and therefore without error and as such are our sole authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Jeremiah 30:2).
We believe in one God, eternally existing in Three co-equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Corinthians. 8:6, 1 John 5:7-8, Matthew 28:19).
We believe that God created the world in seven literal days as described in Genesis 1 and 2. We also believe that man was created in the image of God and that through disobedience, sinned and fell. As a result the entire human race shares in Adam's original sin and is therefore lost and guilty before a holy God (Gen. 1:26-27; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 3:23; 5:13-19)
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary. He is the God man - 100% God and 100% Man who became flesh and dwelt among us (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:14).
We believe in the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and that Christ, who knew no sin, died for sin as a ransom for all (John 3:16-17; Rom. 3:21-24; Phil. 2:7-8; Heb. 9:12-14).
We believe In the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, His ascension into Heaven, His exaltation as Lord, His headship of the Church, and His priestly intercession and advocacy. We also believe in His pre-millennial return for His Church and His personal and imminent Second Coming to rule and reign on the earth as the King of Kings. (Matthew 28:6-7, John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 2:17; 5:9-10, 1 John 2:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:1-11; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10; Revelation 19:11-16)
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace, and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This faith is manifested in works pleasing to God, who calls all believers to a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 4:12, James 2:14-20 Romans 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 7:1)
We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit, the divine Agent in nature, revelation and redemption. His ministry is to glorify Christ, convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He regenerates, baptizes, indwells, energizes and empowers the believer, for godly living and for spiritual service (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 3:5-6; 16:7-11, Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:9-16; 2 Thessalonians 2:13).
We believe in the personality of Satan who is a fallen creature, who by the permission of God, holds a position of great influence, power, and deception in human affairs (2 Cor. 4:4, 11:13-15; Eph. 2:2; Rev. 12:9).
We believe that all believers in Christ are members of the Body of Christ, the Church and that the believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit in entirety at the moment of faith in Christ, and it’s the privilege and duty of all believers to be filled (controlled or led) by the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:12,13, Ephesians 5:18)
We believe in the eternal security of all born-again believers and in the eternal damnation and punishment of all who are finally unrepentant and un-saved (John 10:28-29, Rom. 6:23, 8:35-39; ; Phil. 1:6; 1 Peter 1:5; Rev. 20:11-15).
We believe in the God given ordinances of the Church:
(A) Believer’s Baptism. We practice baptism by immersion, which best pictures the believers death, burial, and resurrection with Christ, in accordance with the New Testament pattern(Acts 8:36-38)
(B) The Lord’s Table or Communion. This is where the bread and the cup are served to believers, after a period of self-examination, in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice for our sins (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Neither Baptism, nor the Lord’s table gives, helps, or keeps salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We believe that it is God's plan that the world be evangelized through the church by the preaching and teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the obligation and responsibility of all believers (Matt. 28:19-20).
